How do Bus Passes work?
New Zealand's breathtaking scenery is best experienced at your own pace. That's why we think bus passes offer great flexibility for travel all over New Zealand.
Passes are based on booking of set number of hours of travel allowing you to hop on any number of buses or ferries from and to anywhere in the country. If your hours start to get low then you can top up your passes with extra hours making it super easy for you to get around.
You can also use your bus pass on a number of GreatSights® and awesomeNZ® day tours. Your pass covered the bus or couch travel there and back, you just need to cover things like the entrance fee.
After you’ve purchased your pass, reservations for bus and ferry services are compulsory and should be made as soon as possible to avoid disappointment and no later than 72 Hours prior to the travel date to secure you a seat. Reservations are subject to availability and can be made by contacting our New Zealand Travel Team.
