Getting to Picton
The ferry from Wellington takes approximately three hours, with multiple departure times throughout the day (ideal for connecting with the Coastal Pacific train or buses to Christchurch, Blenheim, or Nelson). 

The Coastal Pacific train connects from Picton to Blenheim, Kaikoura, Rangiora, and Christchurch, operating Thursday through Sunday from September 19 to December 31, and daily from January 1 to April 27. 

Buses provide daily connections to Nelson, via Blenheim, as well as to Christchurch.
