Getting to Kaikoura
Kaikōura is easily accessible via the Coastal Pacific train from either Picton or Christchurch. The train runs Thursday through Sunday from September 19 to December 31, and daily from January 1 to April 27. If you’re short on time, consider a day trip on the Coastal Pacific, travelling from Christchurch to Kaikōura and back.
Buses also run daily, with southbound services from Picton and northbound services from Christchurch, making it easy to reach this stunning coastal destination.
